Elly De La Cruz hit the ground running today! Beginning his 2025 campaign today with not one but TWO Home Runs, one from each side of the plate!

De La Cruz looked very sharp in his two plate appearances today. His First AB he hit a 2-2 curveball that hung right over the middle of the plate out to Right Center field off of Cleveland pitcher Triston McKenzie. His second trip up to the plate he was batting from the right side of the plate. This time he belted a fastball off of LHP Logan Allen to center field for a 409 ft home run with an exit velo of 109 MPH!
Elly Primed for a 30-30 Season?
With this strong offensive performance right out the gate, is this an exciting sign of things to come for Elly De La Cruz in the upcoming 2025 season? This could definitely be true with Elly and his elite speed – the 30 SB will be easy for him. The home runs will definitely be more of a challenge, but I believe he can take that next step and gets 30+ HRs. If Elly achieves this, we could be looking at an MVP season for number 44! Only time will tell but De La Cruz is already giving us fans lots of hope for a good season!
