All eyes have been on X and other social media sites this weekend for any nuggets relating to Joe Burrow’s availability for the Bengals’ game tomorrow against the New England Patriots. He returned to practice this week and has made significant progress towards a return.
The team has until four p.m. today to activate him off the injured reserve list. And while no official word has come from the Bengals, sources tell Ian Rapoport that Burrow won’t be activated this weekend.
It appears as though it’ll be the Joe Flacco show once again. The veteran quarterback is still battling a shoulder injury but remains our best opportunity to be competitive this week against one of the most explosive teams in the league.
This sets up a Burrow return versus Lamar Jackson and division rivals the Baltimore Ravens on thanksgiving. It should be an epic game and setting, but it’s also going to be a tall task for Burrow in his first game back.

Although Bengal nation wanted to see their favorite quarterback rerun this week, it was a tall order to ask him to come back and play two games in the span of four days. Now he will have more practice and time to get game ready, even if his absence does put this team further in the hole if they cannot beat New England this weekend and fall to 3-8.
