News: Spencer Steer And Reds Agree To Deal

    Spencer Steer’s 2025 Mixed Results

In the 2025 MLB season, Spencer Steer delivered a productive, albeit somewhat streaky, campaign for the Cincinnati Reds, combining steady power with timely run production. He finished the year with a .238 batting average, 21 home runs, and 75 RBIs, ranking among the team’s key offensive contributors and showing a knack for big moments — including multi-home-run games and five-RBI performances that helped Cincinnati in pivotal contests. Steer’s season also featured impactful outings like a three-hit performance against the Yankees and clutch homers against division rivals, underscoring his role as a middle-of-the-order bat capable of swinging momentum. While his overall offensive metrics (like OPS) hovered around league average, his ability to anchor rallies and deliver in high-leverage situations made him an important everyday presence in the Reds’ lineup throughout 2025.

Spencer Steer Agrees to New Contract With Reds

Spencer Steer and the Reds resolved arbitration early this year agreeing to a $4,000,000 contract for 2026, per Mark Feisand of MLB.com on X. Spencer Steer is coming off what he would label a disappointing year due to injuries, but his second half was more than plausible.

He was predicted to be getting a $4,500,000 deal per MLB Trade Rumors so he is coming in at $500,000 less than most outlets predicted he would get, signaling a nice ‘deal’ for the Reds.
