Though the Cats fell last week to Utah on the road, 45-14, the bye week still helped them out. It was also a chance to regroup after what was their worst loss of the season. Brendan Sorsby struggled mightily, going just 11/33. His 33 percent completion percentage was his lowest since their week one loss to Nebraska. Evan Pryor was out, and the defense just could not handle Utah. The Utes put up over 480 yards of total offense.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR THE BEARCATS
Next week the Bearcats will play host to the Arizona Wildcats. They are 6-3 on the year and coming off a 24-20 win over the Kansas Jayhawks. They are sixth in the Big 12 in scoring (33 ppg) and eighth in total yards (406 ypg). However the Wildcats boast one of the most formidable defenses in the conference. They give up less than 20 points per game.

It will be good for the Bearcats to return to the friendly confines of Nippert Stadium. But Arizona will be an extremely tough test to bounce back against. Cincinnati is still in the hunt in the Big 12, they sit in second place. An extremely important matchup against previously undefeated BYU looms large on November 22.
The Cougars themselves fell this week in blowout fashion to Texas Tech, 29-7. Both they and the Bearcats are tied with a 5-1 conference record. And BYU will have to make the cross county trip, which gives Cincinnati the advantage in a pivotal conference clash.
