Disappointing 2024

It’s not a secret that Noelvi had one of the most disappointing seasons of any Red in 2024. In the offseason, he made terrible choices with taking steroids, then once he was eligible to come back, he was even worse. He ended up slashing .210/.248/.301/.549 – truthfully dreadful production, or lack of. He ended the 2024 year worth -1.8 bWAR. It’s a season you hope he can forget, that’s for sure.

Hopefully Noelvi Marte will help himself out a little more this year, stay focused, and be ready to play baseball. The DoWL was the start of his decline last year after a promising start to this MLB career. I think I’m willing to chalk up his 2024 struggles to the surroundings of his mishaps – he’s a lot better baseball player than he showed, especially defensively. Terry Francona has always had a great ability to connect with his Latin American players, let’s hope Noelvi Marte is no exception.

Sal Stewart is having the kind of start that makes you think winning Rookie of the Year might be possible. Yes, it is but one series and a drop in the bucket in a 162-game season but that’s no reason not to get excited about the numbers he’s putting up. Subscribe to our email newsletter,…
