Reds once, but still promising prospect and centerpiece surrounding the Luis Castillo trade from the Seattle Mariners is set to make his Dominican Winter League Debut tonight for Gigantes del Cibao.

Disappointing 2024
It’s not a secret that Noelvi had one of the most disappointing seasons of any Red in 2024. In the offseason, he made terrible choices with taking steroids, then once he was eligible to come back, he was even worse. He ended up slashing .210/.248/.301/.549 – truthfully dreadful production, or lack of. He ended the 2024 year worth -1.8 bWAR. It’s a season you hope he can forget, that’s for sure.
Hopefully Noelvi Marte will help himself out a little more this year, stay focused, and be ready to play baseball. The DoWL was the start of his decline last year after a promising start to this MLB career. I think I’m willing to chalk up his 2024 struggles to the surroundings of his mishaps – he’s a lot better baseball player than he showed, especially defensively. Terry Francona has always had a great ability to connect with his Latin American players, let’s hope Noelvi Marte is no exception.

All things considered, he put up a heck of a fight, allowing only two earned runs on six hits over five innings, while walking one and striking…
The Reds Aren’t Giving Up On This Guy And Neither Should You
Matt McLain had one of the best spring training campaigns that we’ve seen in a long while. He posted a .553 batting average, a .605 on-base percentage, and a 1.105 slugging percentage for a 1.710 OPS. Those numbers convinced many that he was poised to turn things around in 2026 after an extremely disappointing prior…
This Former MLB Cast Off Has Slugged His Way Into the Reds Starting Lineup
There hasn’t been much to cheer about for the Reds recently. After losing 10 of their last 12 they caught fire today, though, and rocked the Washington Nationals 15-1. For a team that has struggled so mightily, the ball was flying all over the place at Great American ballpark on Thursday afternoon. Spencer Steer scored…
