Hunter Greene Takes the Mound In the Complex League

Hunter Greene took another step forward in his road back to pitching for the Reds this season. He took the mound last night in the Arizona Complex League and looked very good in his first real game action.

Greene faced 14 batters and threw 39 strikes on 54 pitches. He allowed only two hits in four innings and went over 101 MPH on the radar gun. Greene struck out six and only walked a single batter. He even pitched an inning longer than expected, a positive sign.

Greene was diagnosed with bone chips and loose bodies in his right elbow on early March 2026 and underwent a successful arthroscopic surgery to remove them on March 11, 2026.

With Greene out the Reds rotation ranks 16th in ERA (4.47), 24th in average allowed (.257), and 26th in strikeouts (305). His eventual return should be a nice boost to a unit, led by Chase Burns, that could certainly use the help.

In his career with the Cincinnati Reds from 2022 through 2025, Greene has gone 25-29 with a 3.65 ERA across 91 appearances.
